NUMBERING HEAD

A numbering head will considerably reduce setup time and save cost, particularly when you are printing date codes or numbers only. Numerators are printing forms such as type and clichés (engravings).  If you need lettering or numbering changed daily or by customer, batch or date you can reduce setup time on text changes with a numbering head. They are fabricated according to your specifications. You as the user determine the number of wheels, engraving of each wheel (letters, figures, signs), maximum printing width, dimensions per digit and font type. Fast changes of impressions are possible with numerator usage. Flipping a numbering wheel take seconds.

When sequential numbering, on flat surfaces, the lever on the side of the head is actuated to advance the number. For irregular numbering, the wheels are moved by means of a stylus. When a change is made in the wheels, the old imprint must be wiped off the print pad or roller. This extra step however is done rapidly and the whole operation is most satisfactory method of sequential marking. (For computer controlled marking processes, please choose Laser or Pin Marking).

There are three types of numerator construction:  Box (picture), Cylindrical and Barrel-Shaped.  Our numbering heads may be mounted on any of our model machines. With some numerator models, the numerator text may be printed simultaneously with other permanent copy (nyloprint clichés). The numerators may be specially fabricated, according to your specifications. For a quotation request, please contact our sales staff or for replacements send us your worn numbering head.

The numbering heads are the finest “Old World” construction and are made of steel throughout, with hardened steel wheels. The lifetime of such a head is extremely long and measured in decades. These Box Numerators are normally in stock:  1.25 mm. - 5 wheel; 1.5 mm. - 6 wheel; 2.0 mm. - 6 wheel and 3 mm. - 6 wheel.
